Novelty: Short machine tap NPT + suitable reamer

NPT is a conical pipe thread (taper ratio 1:16). Therefore the core hole should also be conical. For this purpose, VÖLKEL has developed the NPT TwinBoxes. Matching the NPT tap, the TwinBoxes contain precisely matching NPT reamers.

The advantage of a conical core hole when tapping NPT threads is that the tap has to cope with a considerably lower chip volume during tapping and is therefore less strained. The tool life time of the tap is thus increased and the surface of the cut thread is also better than when tapping in a cylindrical core hole.

Although it is possible to make core holes for NPT threads cylindrical, it is not recommended because the tap then has to cope with considerably more chip volume. This leads to additional load on the tool, the risk of chip accumulation and the cutting quality of the thread is negatively affected.

VÖLKEL belongs to Germany's best!

In Germany's largest brand test, Deutschland Test examined around 20,000 brands for their perception by customers. The study was carried out on behalf of Focus Money and Deutschland Test by the IMWF Institute for Management and Economic Research with scientific support from the International School of Management (ISM). For this purpose, around 107 million articles in online media and social media were examined and evaluated for their positive tonality. The awarding of the best is branch-specific; the result impressively shows which companies and brands the Germans particularly trust.

The study, including the results, was published in October 2019 as a supplement in the print editions of Focus and Focus Money. Only very few thread cutting tool manufacturers have made it into the ranking; we are all the more proud that VÖLKEL is one of Germany's best in the area of tools and equipment.

Set of hand taps for grease nipples

Lubrication nipples are frequently used in mechanical engineering, equipment construction, and vehicle construction and are generally made of galvanised steel, stainless steel, or brass. Common areas of application: Cardan and drive shafts, bearings and bearing blocks, hydraulic cylinders, movement and guide spindles.

In the head of the lubrication nipple there is a ball-spring mechanism. The lubricants (greases, oils) are fed to the corresponding component via the grease nipples using an oil or grease press. The ball closes the lubrication nipple after lubricating and thus prevents impurities from reaching the points to be lubricated.

The lubrication nipples are connected to a corresponding component via a thread, e.g. on a machine. VÖLKEL now offers a practical complete set for the most frequently used grease nipple threads:

Perfect threads for horseshoe studs

Horseshoe studs are widespread in equestrian sports. The studs are screwed into the horseshoes and serve for a better hold and thus provide greater safety when riding.

In particular, studs are used when riding on poor ground, at high speeds, or when riding narrow turns. Frequently used threads for horseshoe studs are the metric threads M 10 and M 12 and the British Whitworth thread BSW 3/8".

Threading tool set for wheel studs and wheel nuts

Wheel nuts are used to fasten the rim to the wheel bolts (studs on the vehicle hub) of passenger cars and trailers. The wheel bolts have an external thread, the wheel nuts an internal thread. Due to weather conditions and heavy loads, the threads are often exposed to severe corrosion or contamination.

For easier assembly, it is recommended to clean or re-cut the threads of wheel bolts and wheel nuts. VÖLKEL has therefore put together a practical thread cutting set including actuating tools for the most common thread sizes.
