Tool holders + accessories for thread cutting
In addition to suitable threading tools, thread cutting also requires the appropriate holding tools, such as adjustable tap wrenches for hand taps or die holders for round dies. VÖLKEL offers both in either die-cast zinc or steel versions. We also stock die holders in inch sizes and for square dies. Further useful accessories for thread cutting:
- Tap holders with ratchet in short or long versions for taps up to M 12
- Tap extensions up to 32 mm square for hard-to-reach areas
- Guides for round dies to ensure a straight cut
Furthermore, a suitable lubricant, such as V4S thread cutting gel, N3S thread cutting oil or V4G thread cutting paste, should always be used for thread cutting. This extends the service life of the threading tools and improves the surface quality of the cut threads.

In addition to its optimal suitability for high-alloy and stainless steels, it also delivers excellent results when machining chrome-nickel steel, titanium or manganese-carbon steels. The cutting oil N3S can be used very economically, with low tool wear and a prevented formation of built-up edges. This enables long tool life and high quality cutting of the produced threads.
