Taps for thread cutting by hand and machine
The short machine tap is a cost-effective alternative to a hand tap set and machine tap. The thread can be cut in a single operation, just like with a machine tap. Short machine taps are often used for DIY and craft work, as well as for thread cutting in small series and individual parts.
Advantages:
- Thread cutting in a single operation = time saving
- More cost-effective than machine taps or hand tap sets
- Short design allows manual thread cutting even in hard-to-reach places
Short machine taps by VÖLKEL are suitable for general use and for thread cutting in good to machine materials with a tensile strength of up to 900 N/mm². It is recommended to always use a suitable lubricant, such as N3S thread cutting oil, to extend the service life of the taps and improve the surface quality of the cut threads.
